President's Day News From Around The Planet

Happy President's day, people.

This whole idea of celebrating the President is very monarchical. It's a worse idea than Colombus Day. Anyway:

• Doug Thompson from Capitol Hill Blue has an excellent President's Day rant today.
• This year Colorado Senator Ken Salazar gets the honor of reading George Washington's farewell address, a long time President's Day tradition. Salazar's an ironic choice, since he recently pointed out that Bush is really more like a King than a President.
• It's never too early to think about the next President. I'm not saying he's my pick, but this guy would be better than what we have now.

VIDEO: Most Presidents these days do a much better job after they leave office. Jimmy Carter is one example. He recently did an impressive job of talking to the idiotic Jay Leno.
