Barbaric!

The Station Agent
Even among Democrats, Senator Robert Byrd has a hard time getting anyone to take him seriously. He's 5,000 years old. In the 1940s, for a short time, Byrd served as the leader of his local chapter of the KKK. In 1964, he helped filibuster the Civil Rights Act.
He also vigorously spoke out against the war in 2003.
These days, Byrd is known as a coot. A slow-talking grumpy old man, ripe for parody.
This epic diatribe Byrd unleashed in the Senate last week on dogfighting pretty much echoes my sentiments, but of course, with the racist coot being the one doing the barking everyone just points and laughs. Kinda like when he spoke out against Iraq. Strange days indeed.
