A Turd Blossom By Any Other Name

by Jay Allbritton
Boy that Clinton campaign is just a paragon of virtue.

After watching the Gore campaign and the Kerry campaign die unseemly nice-guy deaths, the idea of a bad ass, take no prisoners, morally compromised, Nixon-level ruthless candidate might appeal to some liberals. Not me.

This planted student stunt stinks of Rove.

From CNN.Com:
GRINNELL, Iowa (CNN) -- The college student who was told what question to ask at one of New York Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign events said "voters have the right to know what happened" and she wasn't the only one who was planted.

In an exclusive on-camera interview with CNN, Muriel Gallo-Chasanoff, a 19-year-old sophomore at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, said giving anyone specific questions to ask is "dishonest," and the whole incident has given her a negative outlook on politics.

Nice to see that she only just now acquired a negative view of politics. That will serve you well young one.

Let's look at some of the details of this story:

Last week a Clinton staffer asked Gallo-Chasanoff if she'd like to ask the senator a question after Senator Clinton's energy speech in Newton, Iowa.

She agreed and immediately formulated her own question. A good one too. "Yeah," she asked the staffer, "can I ask how her energy plan compares to the other candidates energy plans?"

That's a question I would like the answer to.

The staffer had other ideas. After poopooing the query on the grounds that he didn't "know how familiar she is with their plans."

That didn't come up in preparations to, you know, run for President!?

The staffer opened a binder to a page that had "about eight questions on it".

Gallo-Chasanoff must've got a decent look at that notebook because she noticed that "it said 'college student' in brackets and then the question."

The question they wanted asked was, "As a young person, I'm worried about the long-term effects of global warming. How does your plan combat climate change?"

"As a young person?" I'm gonna blow massive chunks.

Gallo-Chasanoff said she asked the campaign's question because she "likes to be agreeable" and "didn't want to go back on my word."

Adorable.

The campaign says they're sorry and won't do it again. Really, why? If you're going to play this game, you gotta go over the top with it and just smear the crap out of this girl. Guess their hearts just aren't in heartlessness. Even in this Machiavellian game, the best the Democrats have is half-assed.

Why not clone Barnum and get him to work the marks for ya, Hillary!

VIDEO: Remember a few weeks ago when Hillary thought she had a plant from another camp asking her about Iran?
