Exaggerated Claims About Exaggerated Claims in Presidential Politics

by Jay Allbritton
Dan Abrams, Rachel Maddow and Craig Crawford look at five dubious statements thusfar in campaign 2008 (in 2007).

An aside to Crawford: Al Gore never claimed he invented the internet. Every serious follower of politics knows this. Cut the shit.

The comment included here by John Edwards is a weak selection. Sure, Edwards can't take away Congress's healthcare unilaterally--although, Bush wasn't supposed to be able to do a lot of shit he did--but he could use his position as president to leverage legislation through what will likely be a very Democratic Congress that would alter or eliminate the sweet deal Congress gets now on healthcare.
