I'm Tommy Christopher and You're Not

by Tommy Christopher

Hi, there, folks. I'm Tommy Christopher, Political Machine colleague and, I hope, friend of your very own Station Agent. Wow, it is cold in here. I wanted to introduce myself before I get all crazy on you. Here's a link to my work on The Political Machine, to give you an idea of my point of view. Just read the top 234 of them, the rest aren't worth the time. Jay and I both lucked into the AOL gig due to our association with The Young Turks, and for my part, it has been a richly rewarding experience.

Since this is just an intro, I don't have anything newsy to give you, but if you look at my recent stories, you'll see that the Democratic primary race weighs heavily on my mind. I think Jay will concur, as do my colleagues Denise and Knowlesie, that the Hillbots are getting really ugly, with at least tacit approval from Mark Penn's underground lair. He's leasing it from Karl Rove.

This has got to stop. I tried to stay out of the fray somewhat until the 3am ad. Thing is, no matter which candidate you like, and I admire both, this is disaster for the Democrats, at the hands of one of their icons. Actually, a bunch of their icons.

Just a few weeks ago, the Democrats were assured victory, more so than at any point in my lifetime, and now that's all up for grabs. The media is fueling this race-baiting, and the tide of "Blue-collar" Democrats is turning against Barack Obama. Even if they return to vote for him in the general, they will have pushed soft independent support to McCain.

The fucking gloves are off now. I'm through giving the Clinton campaign the benefit of the doubt. I hope all Democrats who love what this party is supposed to stand for will join me in helping Hillary to feel the fork. We love her, but she's done.
