Is There a Draft in Here?

To me, it seemed like John McCain's eyes glazed over and he stopped listening to a very nice, but long winded lady at a campaign event. She stopped talking and he simply agreed with what she had just said.

Only, she told McCain that we need to bring back the draft to accomplish our military goals.

Oops.

Mistake or not, his campaign still hasn't rolled back the statement. Until they do, perhaps it's fair to say that the Move.On ad with the lady holding the 8-year old wasn't that off base.

By the way something, between this debacle, the Bush Administration's agreement to a timetable for withdrawal in Iraq, and McCain's trouble remembering how many houses he has, this could be, as Mitchell Bard argues, the day McCain's campaign died.
